Adult Bible Study: This group meets on Sundays from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the front parlor during the school year. The focus of the group is a study of the Holy Scripture using the historical critical method, and also by group discussion.

Adult Forum: This group meets occasionally on Sundays from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the Parish Hall. This class is led by both clergy and parishioners and often features special guests. Topics change regularly and information can be found about upcoming discussions in the parish newsletter and in emails sent from the church office.

Van Buren Class: This group meets from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the Toner Room. This class, for all adult ages, meets during the school year. The class focuses on topical discussions for spiritual development that can be applied to the challenges and celebrations of day-to-day living and life.

PumpkinPatchWomen’s Spiritual Journeyers Class: This group meets from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the large parlor during the school year. This women’s group studies a range of topics, and explore together how each of these topics contribute to personal and collective faith, as well as spiritual development and commitment.

Weekdays

Centering Prayer: This group meets year-round on Wednesdays at 12:00 p.m./noon in the choir room. The men and women in this group use both the discussion of books on contemplative prayer, along with the practice of silent, centering prayer, to deepen their faith.

Connections: This group meets during the school year on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the large parlor. This group is primarily composed of women with young children who share in prayer, devotion, discussion and along with personal support of each other.

Baptism

Education for Ministry (EfM): This group meets on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. during the school year. EfM is a four-year program that focuses on scripture, church history, theology and theological reflection. Individuals sign-up for one year at a time.

Everyday Sisters: This is a woman’s group that gathers on Thursday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the large parlor to read and discuss a group-selected book. This group is available to assist in other ministries and also within the community. Yearly field trips are taken to a destination to enrich the group in their spiritual journey. Childcare is provided during meetings.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study: This group meets on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. year-round. These men and women explore scripture in this discussion-based class.

Writing in the Spirit: This group meets every Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the small parlor during the school year for fellowship and discussion. A different member leads the group each month by choosing a spiritual prompt (that often follows the liturgy but not always). The members write a written response to the prompt and share and discuss their writing with each other.

Occasionally

Cursillo/Ultreya: The Cursillo movement is a method of church renewal that begins with a weekend retreat. The mission of the movement is to help Christians renew their Christian commitment and to understand their roles as leaders in all of life. The occasional group meeting is called “an Ultreya.”
